Neste segundo semestre os britânicos se mobilizaram para eleger as 10 canções favoritas dos Bee Gees. Tudo promovido pelo ITV para o programa The Nations Favourite Bee Gees Song, que já foi editado e inclusive contou com a participação de alguns fãs de carteirinha internacionalmente conhecidos.

BARRY VISITA ROBIN NA INGLATERRA
Depois de um feriado fora da internet, começo a semana com essa bela imagem. Desnecessário dizer o quanto nós fãs ficamos felizes em ver Barry e Robin juntos e, quem sabe, de fato fazendo planos para o futuro.
Bom, há duas leituras óbvias para fazer a respeito dos motivos que fizeram com que o Barry atravessasse o oceano rumo à casa do Robin, algo que, ao que sabemos, não é nada comum.
Prefiro ficar com a leitura otimista e acreditar que o problema com o Robin acabou merecendo mesmo, como coloquei aqui outro dia, uma reflexão do Barry sobre o papel do irmão em sua vida.
Robin está obviamente muito doente e daí toda essa mobilização de parentes, filhos e amigos, porém, de novo, prefiro acreditar que tudo isso foi para dar uma força a ele quanto à recuperação que nós, fãs, esperamos.
O que Barry e Robin poderiam fazer juntos no futuro? Esse é um assunto que já caiu no descrédito, portanto o mais importante agora é que Robin se recupere e o que vier daí será lucro. Pelo menos ele está com uma aparência melhor.

Spencer came over earlier and will be back before Christmas and Melissa is staying with me and Dwina and RJ for a while. It was also good to catch up with Dick and David English. EM 2012 TEM BEE GEES EM PORTUGUÊS
Vem aí um novo CD inteirinho com músicas dos Bee Gees interpretadas em português. O repertório é focado em baladas e - fato muito interessante - a produção ficou a cargo de um profissional que no passado já esteve envolvido com a carreira dos próprios irmãos Gibb.
Neste momento, há negocioações para a escolha da gravadora responsável pelo lançamento da obra, que já está prontinha. A ideia é começar as vendas em 2012. Uma dica: antes que alguém tire conclusões, não estamos falando de ninguém que em algum momento já tenha lançado algum trabalho relacionado aos Bee Gees.
Assim que o contrato sair, eu conto mais.

DOENÇA AFASTA ROBIN DE MAIS UM EVENTO
Robin infelizmente cancelou mais uma aparição pública por conta de seu estado de saúde.
A mim a situação parece cada vez mais preocupante por conta da aparente não-recuperação de seu estado com a passagem das semanas, e também pelas opiniões que tenho ouvido de amigos da área de saúde que viram suas últimas fotos - claro que com as devidas ressalvas de quem não tem contato direto com o paciente.
Essa abaixo é uma causa muito importante para o Robin e sua ausência prova que realmente ele não está bem (faz praticamente um mês que saiu do hospital, ano passado, após a cirurgia, em menos tempo ele já tinha voltado aos palcos).
Enfim, como desta vez a família e o próprio Robin preferiram o silência - ao contrário das outras oportunidades - cresce a preocupação de todos nós e o desejo de que nossas percepções individuais não se confirmem.
Ficamos esperando pela recuperação do Robin, quem tem um grande trabalho a apresentar até abril do ano que vem, data que marca os 100 anos do naufrágio do Titanic, inspiração para seu novo álbum solo que, pelo pouco que já pudemos ouvir, será algo à altura de seu talento.

THE Bomber Command Memorial campaign got a £300,000 boost yesterday after a prestigious fund-raising dinner hosted by TV star Carol Vorderman.
The 400 guests, including Daily Express owner Richard Desmond, actress Wendy Craig and Downton Abbey creator Lord Fellowes, dug deep for the auctions.
The most coveted item – a flight for two in a Lancaster bomber in Canada – went for £45,000.
A one-off Bomber Command watch made by Breitling sold for £40,000, two luxury holidays at a resort in Antigua used by soccer star David Beckham for £34,000, a series of paintings by David and Mandy Shepherd for £30,000 and a trip to the Champagne region with Taittinger for £17,000. The audience was entertained by groups including The Dooleys, Blake and singer Tori White.
The Bomber Command Memorial Fund also used the event to pay tribute to the support given by the Daily Express. Readers have donated £500,000, a sum matched by Mr Desmond from his own pocket.
The campaign’s fundraising director Jim Dooley said: “Our friends in the media have been extraordinarily supportive. Daily Express readers have been so very generous as has Daily Express owner Richard Desmond. Without their support we would not be where we are now – laying the foundations for the memorial and preparing for the formal opening next June during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.”

Mr Dooley also read out a personal message to the £400-a-head dinner from his colleague at the fund, Bee Gee Robin Gibb. Mr Gibb was too ill to perform at the event in London’s Natural History Museum. But from his sick bed he said: “It has been a labour of love and it is a great achievement on everyone’s part.
“A special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this cause. It is something I celebrate every day that, after 70 years, this monument is a reality and a fitting tribute to those veterans who are with us today and to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom today. It is my great regret that I am unable to be with you tonight.
“I was looking forward to it, and I will make it up to you in the future. I will see you all soon. Onwards and upwards.” Work has begun on the foundations in Green Park on Piccadilly. The memorial will be unveiled on June 28 with the Queen thought likely to perform the honours

Bee Gees star Robin Gibb is selling his Florida mansion for a reported $4.2million.
The ivy-covered, Spanish-style residence has an impressive seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and was bought by the 61-year-old British-born musician and his wife Dwina three years ago.
According to South Florida celebrity news website Gossip Extra, the couple paid about the same price that they're now asking – in cash – in 2008.
The palatial 20,000sq ft property, which was built in 2001, features soaring 12ft- and 24ft-high ceilings and stands on a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac in Miami's prestigious Ponce Davis area.
The luxury home is listed on real estate website Trulia, and is described as having a "timeless floor plan”, "breathtaking foyer”, and “state-of-the-art sound system throughout the house”.
It also boasts a huge gourmet kitchen, marble floors, an office, and maid's quarters, as well as elegant family rooms and both formal and casual dining spaces.
Gibb is understood to have placed the two-storey home, which also has a three-car garage and a "resort-style" pool and patio, on the market 90 days ago.

ROBIN CHEGA AO NÚMERO 1?
Toda a exposição pública do Robin neste momento e seu esforço - inclusive físico - se deve ao sonho de atingir o número 1 das charts britânicas pela sexta década consecutiva?

Enquanto isso, no site Amazon ele está no topo do ranking, como mostra a matéria abaixo. Porém, para efeito das charts oficiais (que consideram especialmente o número de downloads), esse resultado não tem tanto peso.
Uma curiosidade: segundo um fã que já recebeu o CD, ele simula o efeito 5.1 canais de áudio, tornando a experiência ainda mais agradável. Portanto, para quem tem home theater, mais um motivo para comprar o CD oficial e ajudar o Robin na sua luta (pelo menos nessa a gente consegue colaborar).
Robin Gibb's Charity Single Hits Top Of Amazon Charts
The 2011 Official Poppy Appeal Single for The Royal British Legion went on sale this week – with a bullet. The single went straight to the top of the Amazon charts.
I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You by The Soldiers with Robin Gibb went on sale Sunday and had its ceremonial debut on Monday when The Soldiers performed it for Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. The Soldiers performed an a capella version of the song in front of an audience of decorated ex-Service people at the Prime Minister’s home.
The Legion’s Director of Fundraising Russell Thompson said: “It is the first time serving soldiers have sung the official single for the Poppy Appeal and we’re honoured that this great song was performed at No 10 Downing Street today, The song is incredibly moving to hear and reminds listeners to think of those serving in Afghanistan. We’re proud to be associated with The Soldiers and to have this song as the official tune of the Poppy Appeal in our 90th anniversary year.”
The single now sits at the top of the Amazon UK singles sales charts, ahead of offerings from One Direction, Erasure, Westlife, and Noel Gallagher.
“We’re delighted it’s been so well received,” said a Legion spokesman. “Now let’s keep the momentum going to make Robin Gibb and The Soldiers the Number One single on the Official UK Charts for Remembrance Sunday.”
The Soldiers – Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Staff Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi – were aware of Robin Gibb’s charitable work for the troops and big fans of the Bee Gees. They approached Robin to ask if he would be up for a collaboration, and were over the moon when he agreed.
Sgt Maj Gary Chilton said: "As serving soldiers, it’s a huge privilege to be involved in something as special as the Poppy Appeal and perform at No 10 Downing Street. We hope every single person in the country embraces the Appeal and gives back to those who sacrifice so much for our country.
“The Royal British Legion is a wonderful organisation which provides so much practical help to the Armed Forces. It is there to pick up people who have fallen on hard times. For example, Ryan’s dad used to serve in the Welsh Guards and when his lift broke down, the Legion was able to sort it out for him, which was fantastic.”
If the single makes it to the top of the Official UK Singles Charts, it would mark a record-breaking six consecutive decades with a Number One single for Robin Gibb.
’I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You’ has been produced by the legendary Nick Patrick (Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson) and Jeff Chegwin. Robin Gibb wrote the track with his brothers Barry and Maurice and it was originally recorded by the Bee Gees in 1968, becoming their second Number One single on the UK singles chart.
The single is now available from Amazon, HMV, www.poppyshop.org.uk and other leading outlets.

The Beatles legend Ringo Starr has never really managed to shake off unfair criticism of his drumming skills.
Now, I can reveal, the 69-year-old faced fresh humiliation at the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition launch at the V&A last night when a pretty brunette mistook him for Bee Gees star Robin Gibb. Ringo pictured with his wife below.
'My friend bet me £50 that you were in the Rolling Stones and I got it right because I said the Bee Gees.' She said to a bemused Ringo.
'The Bee Gees. I suppose I look a bit like Robin Gibb so just call me Robin from now on.' he joked.
The star took the faux pas with good humour and revealed the reason why he was attending the event as Prince Albert of Monaco's guest.
'I've known Albert since he was a baby and I've remained friends with the family ever since. This is an amazing way to remember Princess Grace.' he said.
Argentina faz corrente pela recupeção do Robin
Os fãs argentinos convidam para uma reunião em Buenos Aires dia 26 de novembro para formar uma corrente em favor da recuperação do Robin.

Robin Gibb's Charity Single Hits Top Of Amazon Charts
The 2011 Official Poppy Appeal Single for The Royal British Legion went on sale this week – with a bullet. The single went straight to the top of the Amazon charts.
I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You by The Soldiers with Robin Gibb went on sale Sunday and had its ceremonial debut on Monday when The Soldiers performed it for Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. The Soldiers performed an a capella version of the song in front of an audience of decorated ex-Service people at the Prime Minister’s home.
The Legion’s Director of Fundraising Russell Thompson said: “It is the first time serving soldiers have sung the official single for the Poppy Appeal and we’re honoured that this great song was performed at No 10 Downing Street today, The song is incredibly moving to hear and reminds listeners to think of those serving in Afghanistan. We’re proud to be associated with The Soldiers and to have this song as the official tune of the Poppy Appeal in our 90th anniversary year.”
The single now sits at the top of the Amazon UK singles sales charts, ahead of offerings from One Direction, Erasure, Westlife, and Noel Gallagher.
“We’re delighted it’s been so well received,” said a Legion spokesman. “Now let’s keep the momentum going to make Robin Gibb and The Soldiers the Number One single on the Official UK Charts for Remembrance Sunday.”
The Soldiers – Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Staff Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi – were aware of Robin Gibb’s charitable work for the troops and big fans of the Bee Gees. They approached Robin to ask if he would be up for a collaboration, and were over the moon when he agreed.
Sgt Maj Gary Chilton said: "As serving soldiers, it’s a huge privilege to be involved in something as special as the Poppy Appeal and perform at No 10 Downing Street. We hope every single person in the country embraces the Appeal and gives back to those who sacrifice so much for our country.
“The Royal British Legion is a wonderful organisation which provides so much practical help to the Armed Forces. It is there to pick up people who have fallen on hard times. For example, Ryan’s dad used to serve in the Welsh Guards and when his lift broke down, the Legion was able to sort it out for him, which was fantastic.”
If the single makes it to the top of the Official UK Singles Charts, it would mark a record-breaking six consecutive decades with a Number One single for Robin Gibb.
’I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You’ has been produced by the legendary Nick Patrick (Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson) and Jeff Chegwin. Robin Gibb wrote the track with his brothers Barry and Maurice and it was originally recorded by the Bee Gees in 1968, becoming their second Number One single on the UK singles chart.
The single is now available from Amazon, HMV, www.poppyshop.org.uk and other leading outlets.

The Beatles legend Ringo Starr has never really managed to shake off unfair criticism of his drumming skills.
Now, I can reveal, the 69-year-old faced fresh humiliation at the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition launch at the V&A last night when a pretty brunette mistook him for Bee Gees star Robin Gibb. Ringo pictured with his wife below.
'My friend bet me £50 that you were in the Rolling Stones and I got it right because I said the Bee Gees.' She said to a bemused Ringo.
'The Bee Gees. I suppose I look a bit like Robin Gibb so just call me Robin from now on.' he joked.
The star took the faux pas with good humour and revealed the reason why he was attending the event as Prince Albert of Monaco's guest.
'I've known Albert since he was a baby and I've remained friends with the family ever since. This is an amazing way to remember Princess Grace.' he said.

CONTINUAMOS TORCENDO PELO ROBIN
Tenho evitado postar aqui porque esse blog foi criado com o objetivo de colocar boas a atuais notícias sobre os irmãos Gibb.
Infelizmente, não deu tempo de colocar aqui boas notícias, todos os fãs foram surpreendidos pela degradação física acelerada do Robin, situação que não foi explicada (ele próprio tem evitado o assunto). Embora respeite-se o direto do Robin e de sua família à privacidade, ao mesmo tempo em que ele aprece sistematicamente nos eventos nas condições em que se encontra acaba dando margem a todo tipo de especulação - e, embora a maioria aqui não seja ligada à área de saúde, somos todos adultos e não é difícil tirar certas conclusões com base no que estamos vendo e no que já vimos em amigos e parentes.
Enfim, resta torcer para que o Robin se recupere, ainda que desde sua saída do hospital há cerca de 3 semanas o que temos visto é exatamente o contrário.
Seguem alguns registros da imprensa inglesa, que já postei no BR GIBB, mas que repito aqui em consideração aos poucos que começaram a frequentar esse blog.
Para entender um pouco melhor a causa em que o Robin está tão empenhado, segue uma matéria interessante da semana passada.
É claro que nessa história toda o Robin tem também um interesse grande em chegar ao número 1 pela sexta década consecutiva, o que seria um merecido marco histórico - no entanto, por enquanto parece estar muito longe disso.
Espero também que seja mera coincidência o Robin ter escolhido para esse momento regravar uma música que trata tão explicitamente de uma pessoa se despedindo da vida.
Poppy appeal aims for record £40m
The Royal British Legion has launched the 2011 UK Poppy appeal, with the aim of raising £40m to help past and present members of the British Armed Forces and their families.
This year's slogan "shoulder to shoulder with all who serve" was unveiled at a London event.
The charity hopes to beat last year's efforts, which raised £36m .
There is also an online campaign and an official single recorded by Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, and The Soldiers.
The Soldiers are a music group of three serving personnel - Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Staff Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi.
The three soldiers attended the launch event, along with television presenter Gethin Jones.
The Poppy appeal distributes about 45m poppies, 100,000 wreaths and sprays and 750,000 Little Remembrance crosses. These items are made at the Legion's poppy factory in Richmond, south west London.
Virtual poppies
The Legion, now in its 90th year, has also unveiled a social media campaign to capture public support and encouragement for the Armed Forces.
Members of the public are able to pin a poppy to an online photograph, add a message of support, and place it alongside thousands of others on an interactive wall.
Legion Director of Fundraising, Russell Thompson, said: "Of course, everyone who wears the paper poppy is also standing shoulder to shoulder.
"It doesn't really matter whether you wear your poppy on the street or online - just so long as you wear your poppy with pride."
Attending the national launch was Lance Corporal Tyler Christopher, 27, of 4th Battalion The Rifles. He was injured by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2009 and had to have both legs amputated above the knee.
The Legion has provided funding for adaptations to his home.
He said: "Changes to my mum's home were essential when I came home from Headley Court, and I'll never forget that the Legion got the job done as quickly as possible to make life at that time easier for me.
"Both myself and my girlfriend are grateful for the support of the Legion and hope to some day set up our own business - something we know the Legion is also able to help with."
In Wales, the appeal was launched by Corporal Glen Edwards, who was blinded in an accident, at St Dunstan's Llandudno rehabilitation centre. Welsh fundraisers hope to collect £3m this year.
The Poppyscotland appeal, which is a sister appeal to the one run in the rest of the UK, was also launched on Thursday by the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, at their Glencorse Barracks in Penicuik, Midlothian. It raised a record £2.35m last year.
Northern Ireland's appeal is being launched on Friday at Hillsborough Castle, by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Owen Paterson MP.

Pessoalmente, acho que o Robin deveria se preservar dessas exposições, caso, de fato, esteja em fase de recuperação.
No entanto, a outra hipótese é que o Robin pode estar levando a vida dentro das possibilidades atuais, e aí se justificariam essas aparições (essa é a hipótese que todos nós esperamos que não se confirme, pois representaria a não-expectativa de recuperação).
