BOAS NOVIDADES DO ÚLTIMO SÁBADO

Como já informamos aqui, neste último dia 9 a TV britânica levou ao ar um especial em que o público escolheu as suas canções preferidas dos Bee Gees.
Isso é muito subjetivo, meu ranking seria completamente diferente, mas acabam prevalecendo os hits. Eis aí o resultado final da votação - surpreende perceber como You Win Again é lembrada por lá.
Com a mídia promovida por esse programa, as vendas do recém-relanção CD Numeber Ones subiram, levando-o para a posição número 40 do ranking de vendas no país.

Neste programa, parece que foi apresentada pela primeira vez a "bridge" lenta em Stayin Alive (que não foi usada na versão final da canção). Esta raridade fez sua estreia no Brasil há cerca de dois anos no encontro BR GIBB - quem estava lá conheceu bem antes. Resta saber se no especial de TV a versão inédita foi apresentada na íntegra e com boa qualidade de áudio.
O programa começou com 17% da audiência e subiu para 22%, assumindo a primeira posição, deixando a BBC em segundo lugar com 20%.

Outra citação que cabe é o comentário que Blue Weaver colocou na internet, que segue abaixo. Diz a lenda que How Deep Is Your Love, a número 1, tem não um dedo, mas uma mão inteira do BW, em co-autoria não creditada.

What session musicians were trotted out? Although not made obvious in the program we, myself, Dennis Bryon and Alan Kendal (not interviewed) were part of the Bee Gees at that time and not just the trotted out session musicians. We, the same as the brothers, received royalties from the recordings and were not payed as session players. We worked not only as a team but as friends and for the first years lived and worked together when recording. I agree with you over the program being a little soft both myself and Dennis contributed more of an incite into how the songs were created but I suppose we don't bring in the much needed ratings (even you didn't consider mentioning our names) so the talking heads were used. Maybe one day a more in-depth harder story will be told. Blue Weaver

The Nation's Favourite Bee Gees Song, ITV1

A safe but sincere tribute to the biggest hits of the Brothers Gibb

They’re some of the greatest pop songs ever written,” declares Sir Elton John. He’s right. The Bee Gees – Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb – are responsible for songs that will live forever, songs that are part of successive generation’s cultural furniture. Yet although the title was The Nation’s Favourite Bee Gees Song, the question asked on the ITV website was “Just what is the greatest Bee Gees song ever?” Favourite and greatest aren’t the same thing. They can be, but they aren’t.
This kitten-soft stroll through 20 of The Bee Gees’ evergreens wasn’t concerned with any such existential dilemma. Amanda Holden’s excited-puppy voiceover wasn’t made for questioning. So thankfully, we had help from Sirs Elton John and Cliff Richard, Neil Sedaka, Bob Harris and Katie Melua. Dave Grohl too. And Barry and Robin Gibb. It was obvious from before the off that the concept album Odessa, oddities like “Harry Braff” or the classics “Red Chair, Fadeway" and “Kilburn Towers” weren’t going to get a look in. Of course, there are other programmes to be made about their songs: The Bee Gees' Most Idiosyncratic Songs maybe, or one dedicated to the songs they’ve given away. Let’s hope they get made.
Still, whatever the Bee Gee torch held, it’s extraordinary that the band's survival instinct – perhaps strengthened at different times by the deaths of both Maurice and solo brother Andy – has given their songs a seemingly endless shelf-life, while they themselves write songs that suit any of pop’s generations. “They defined an era,” wittered the wildly perky voiceover. Which one? As Sir Cliff noted, they reinvented themselves.
Judging by the session musicians trotted out, the Gibbs relied on studio keyboard players to realise their ideas, as well as the producers they worked with. Robin Gibb said they always started with a melody and recorded the complete backing track before adding a vocal. Barry Gibb said of his trademark wordless high vocal that “I went out there and screamed, and it didn’t sound like a scream”. Of Barbra Streisand he insightfully offered, “She’s great, she’s Barbra.”
This was about the 20 chosen songs, whoever delivered them. Celine Dion, Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton figured in the rundown to the top choice. Adam Faith was mentioned in passing as a recipient of one of their songs and, as a tribute to their songwriting talent, this obscurity can be heard below - listen out for The Bee Gees on what are more than backing vocals. All these singers had songs specially written for them but didn’t appear, so we got Ronan Keating who, with Boyzone, had a hit covering “Words”. Keating said he heard it and thought, “This is Boyzone.” Pity poor Cliff for whom it was originally written. He recalled of “Words” that “the office couldn’t get it to me”.
Odd moments brought gentle insights into the talking heads paraded. Sir Elton John revealed that “Islands in the Stream" always gets people going during karaoke sessions at his home. Um, well, I look forward to the invite. Simply Red's Mick Hucknall was interviewed, indoors, in sunglasses. He sat before a window overlooking the Houses of Parliament. A detour into the Saturday Night Fever stage show found its star Adam Garcia recalling that “unexpectedly I became a huge pop star, a h-u-u-ge pop star. Number 15”. Huge, then. Dave Grohl singing "Tragedy" was priceless, but Ronan Keating telling us The Bee Gees have been around for decades was less so.
There was also some sloppiness. “To Love Somebody” was described as their second single. It was certainly not that in Australia and was actually their third UK single (after "Spicks and Specks" and "New York Mining Disaster"). Lulu was mentioned as having covered “To Love Somebody” without noting her marriage to a Bee Gee. A sequence on their arrival in the UK in the Sixties was immediately followed by a "Staying Alive" era clip. Yep, it was off the boat and straight into the disco.
The programme asked how their career will be remembered. Was this an epitaph? “I don’t think we’ll see the likes of them again,” said Beverley Knight. These past tenses were a tad depressing. However their music is delivered – through themselves, through other performers – The Bee Gees have always seemed current. This celebration of their songs undercut that, making it seem as though it's over. I’d prefer to think it isn't.

PRESENTE DE NATAL

Imagine passar o Natal em um show desses. O que poderia ser melhor que Bee Gees + Eagles ao vivo e na sua frente? Reparem que, em 1972, com os Bee Gees em baixa, todo o destaque ficou para os Eagles. Aliás, responsáveis por um dos (talvez O) melhores shows que eu já assisti em DVD. Se você não viu Eagles Farewell Tour Australia 2004 não sabe o que está perdendo. Agora, quanto não valeria esse encontro lá por 1978, após os fenômenos Hotel California e Saturday Night Fever? Isso sem falar no Stevie Wonder. Música é mesmo uma arte que passou e ficou no tempo.

ROBIN ATUALIZA SITE. COM INFORMAÇÕES VELHAS

O site do Robin foi "atualizado", mas com informações que os leitores deste blog e da lista BR GIBB já conhecem há muito tempo. Nenhuma novidade sobre a saúde do Robin, apenas a informação do "lançamento" (??!!) do CD number ones que, pelo jeito, ao contrário do que havia sido divulgado antes, vai continuar com a mesma capa. Muito barulho por absolutamente nada.

Também fala sobre o especial que vai ao ar dia 9 na TV britânica com a eleição das músicas dos Bee Gees preferidas pelo público - que também não vai trazer novidade nenhuma. O release desse evento você também já leu aqui faz tempo.

Que saudade do tempo em que o ano terminava com uma edição tripla especial do Odessa, com um CD cheio de extras.

Ficamos no aguardo de alguma informação realmente importante sobre a saúde do Robin. Segundo divulgou um site da região em que ele mora, em sua casa as luzes e a decoração de Natal já foram inauguradas.

SOBRE OS COMENTÁRIOS NO BLOG

No nosso encontro no sábado o pessoal questionou a caixa de comentários aqui do blog.
A ferramenta do blogger permite que os usuários cadastrados em certas contas, como por exemplo o yahoo, possam acessar bastando para isso usar sua conta de e-mail. Há também uma opção de open ID, que livra a pessoa dessa obrigação.
Mas esses procedimentos são sempre burocráticos e ninguém tem tempo ou paciência para o passo a passo.
Assim, vou deixar a caixa liberada para todos. Porém, peço que os que eventualmente tiverem algo a acrescentar se identifiquem para que os leitores possam saber de onde vem as opiniões.
Não preciso dizer que se o nível baixar vou ter que fechar de novo o acesso. Mas, claro, como quem gosta de Bee Gees é educado, tenho certeza que o espaço será bem usado, com o propósito de contribuir para a divulgação da vida e da obra dos Bee Gees. Qualquer discordância do que digo aqui é bem-vinda, só peço que tudo seja feito em altíssimo nível.

Rhino Records UK will release a Bee Gees hits compilation entitled ‘Number Ones’ on December 5th.

‘Number Ones’ features twenty global hits, all of which count amongst the Bee Gees’ most loved songs. The album features all five of the group’s UK #1 hits (‘Massachusetts’, ‘I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You’, ‘Night Fever’, ‘Tragedy’ and ‘You Win Again’) as well as countless other timeless classics from their 200 million selling career including ‘Words’, ‘Jive Talkin’’, ‘You Should Be Dancing’, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ and ‘Night Fever’.

The album is completed with ‘Man In The Middle’, a tribute to the late Bee Gee Maurice Gibb, and the original demo version of ‘Immortality’ which they wrote and performed backing vocals for Celine Dion.

The majority of the songs on the album are featured on the shortlist to the upcoming ITV programme The Nation’s Favourite Bee Gees Song. The show invites the public to vote for their favourite Bee Gees song and the results of the poll are revealed in a 90-minute special that will be aired during primetime in December.

This celebration of the Bee Gees’ incredible music will also feature footage and interviews with Barry and Robin Gibb.

Meus ídolos sofrem do fígado

Não sei quantos ídolos uma pessoa tem em média na vida, também não sei se já fizeram essa estatística e nem mesmo sei se de fato a maioria das pessoas tem ídolos. Conheço muitas que não têm. Portanto, às vezes acho que eu é que sou estranho em minhas manias e idolatrias. Falando sob o ponto de vista unitário, tenho pouquíssimos, mas talvez para a média nacional sejam muitos. Sei lá. O que sei é que dois deles passaram muito tempo este ano sofrendo do fígado. Acompanhando a agonia do Robin e torcendo para que ele possa dar a volta por cima, me deparo com a perda do único ídolo que tive no futebol – e talvez aí sim esse seja um número pequeno, pois futebol é algo que não distingue classe social, raça nem religião, em geral o futebol faz muitos ídolos entre os brasileiros em diferentes épocas – mas não no meu caso. Só tive um. E ainda sem o mesmo impacto daqueles que tenho, por exemplo, na música. Mas tava lá. Vítima de complicações outras, mas certamente decorrentes de décadas maltratando um fígado inocente, meu único ídolo no futebol se foi ontem. Comemorar o penta nem teve tanta graça. Espero que o fígado de um dos meus heróis do universo musical não me traia também. Este mês Robin comemora seu aniversário e o Natal, que seja com muita disposição e, quem sabe até, alegria.

Olha que coisa mais linda, Barry Gibb vestiu a saia. O modelito foi cometido para o casamento do filho, Michael, neste sábado, dia 26 de novembro. Coisas da tradição britânica e decadente. Será que um terno limpinho já não bastaria? Era eu...

Robin Gibb: Cancer won't stop me getting back on stage

Passion for music and the love of his fans have always been the driving force behind the success of Bee Gee Robin Gibb.

Now as he draws on the support of well-wishers in his fight with liver cancer, he wants to repay them by going back on tour.
Brave Robin has told friends he wants to play live again to thank all the fans who are praying that his determination and fighting spirit will help him survive.
Brother Barry has been at Robin’s side this week... and he suggested that when he is healthy they should return to the stage.
Their former record company boss David English was visiting too and revealed that Robin is very frail but is sharp and feeling positive.
David added: “Barry came out with it and said, ‘Look, why don’t we go on the road again?’ and Rob just grinned and replied ‘great, when can we go?’
“We said, ‘We need to get you a bit stronger and better first. We will have to feed you up – none of this vegan nonsense with herbal tea’.
“I think it was the best medicine we could have given him.”
Since the Sunday Mirror revealed the sad news of Robin’s cancer last week, heartfelt messages from fans, including many star names,have flooded in from around the world.
Robin, 61, was touched by a card and message from David Cameron and wife Samantha which arrived at the his £8million home.
Tycoon Sir Richard Branson, guitar legend Eric Clapton and comedian Stephen Fry have also sent moving cards and letters.
Former Beatle Ringo Starr has been in touch and there have been a string of famous visitors to Robin’s mansion in Oxfordshire. Psychic Uri Geller, radio DJ Mike Read and author Howard Marks have spent time with Robin and his family.
One close friend said: “The response from fans, members of the public and famous people has been incredible. It has really touched Robin and his wife Dwina.
“Robin was very grateful for the kind message from David and Samantha. Robin was extremely disappointed he had to cancel his meeting with the PM last month because of ill health so it meant a lot to him that he had been in touch this week.
“Robin has many famous friends and he appreciates them rallying round. It helps him take his mind off the difficult battle he faces. Most of all it is the public who have really moved Robin and Dwina.
“It is not just messages on the internet but the cards, presents and letters. So many people have taken the time to send the messages... they have been ­inundated. It is overwhelming. Some fans turned up at the house to ­deliver cards.”
Tony and Cherie Blair have also been in touch a number of times in recent months to offer support. The former PM and his wife are good friends with the Gibbs and stayed at their Miami home for a family holiday in 2006.
Last week we told how Robin was rushed to hospital from his home in Thame. A family friend confirmed he had been diagnosed several months earlier with liver cancer.
Mother Barbara, 91, and brother Barry, 65, flew in from America to be with Robin, who has suffered poor health for more than a year. He had emergency surgery last year to remove part of his intestine and doctors said he could have died within an hour. He has spoken about how he cannot come to terms with the death of his twin brother Maurice in 2003, which led to the Bee Gees disbanding for several years.
This week said on his website he had been “very unwell” but was on the road to recovery”. He added: “Your prayers and wishes are a great tonic. I believe because of you I’ll get well. I’m touched by your love, kindness and support.”
Dwina has been a pillar of strength and is looking into alternative forms of therapy for vegan Robin.
He has been having 20-minute holistic sessions in an infrared sauna installed at the house to sweat out toxins from the body.
Dwina has also been exploring Native American “spider medicine”. This traditional practice promises to cure untreatable diseases by using meditation to capture and channel energy.

DAVID ENGLISH REVELA BASTIDORES DA VISTA DE BARRY A ROBIN

Vamos atualizar um pouco as notícias, pois não tive tempo nos últimos dias de entrar aqui, mas já coloquei o que havia de importante na lista BR GIBB. De qualquer forma, hoje tem bastante conteúdo, fugindo um pouco do assunto mais importante do momento, que é a saúde muito debilitada do Robin.

O mais importante é essa matéria a seguir, que conseguiu arrancar um depoimento do David English sobre os bastidores da visita que ele fez ao Robin em companhia do Barry. Para quem não sabe, David é ex-presidente da RSO Records e amigo muito próximo do Barry, mas também, claro, do Robin. Enfim, por algum motivo o Barry preferiu estar acompanhado neste momento de reencontro com o Robin.

Mas vamos lá. Aqui David English revela quais foram os planos para o futuro que os irmãos fizeram juntos. Trata-se na verdade de uma sugestão para a realização de uma turnê nos Estados Unidos. Todo mundo sabe que nesse momento é impossível pensar nessa possibilidade, mas com certeza a ideia do Barry foi dar mais um motivo para o Robin lutar contra sua doença. Até que deu certo, pois a postagem do Robin no blog mostrou que ele se animou em fazer planos com o irmão.

No mais, a matéria acaba sendo negativa, pois nas entrelinhas confirma tudo o que temos lido sobre o Robin. Infelizmente, estou cada vez mais convencido de que seu estado é gravíssimo e, pior, irreversível (tenho conversado muito com fãs da área de saúde, que têm me dado importantes esclarecimentos). Tomara que eu e esses especialistas estejamos errados. Queremos ver Robin forte para o esperado lançamento de seu novo álbum, em abril de 2012, criado sob inspiração dos 100 anos do naufrágio do Titanic. Tudo indica que será um grande trabalho, à altura de seu criador (algo que nos faça, quem sabe, esquecer de vez que, um dia, Robin cometeu o tal Magnet...).

'Spider therapy', a detox hut and why cancer-stricken Robin Gibb insists he'll soon be back on tour

The magnificent, rambling 12th-century mansion in Oxfordshire that Robin Gibb calls home is full: its flagstoned hall rings with noise.

The former Bee Gee, 61, is surrounded by the love of his nearest and dearest as he fights liver cancer.
His wife, Dwina, sweeps about with her enormous Irish wolfhounds in tow. And three of Robin’s children are also helping care for him.
Robin’s older brother Barry has been to visit, too, as has his mother Barbara, 92.
And one of his closest and oldest friends, his old record company boss David English, has been to see him.
David told me: ‘He’s not very well, obviously. The whole family was there when I went to see him this week. ‘The first thing I did was to give him a hug — carefully because he is quite frail. Though he is very, very thin, his mind is just as sharp as ever, as is his wonderful sense of humour. Barry and I were crying with laughter at the things he comes out with, as we always do with Rob.’
The main topic of conversation was not, as you might expect, Robin’s health, but an idea floated by Barry that the two of them could tour the U.S. next year — if he can get well.
It’s extraordinary, given that the liver cancer with which Robin was diagnosed this spring offers a brutally meagre 10 per cent chance of survival beyond five years - less if it has spread.
David, who spent four hours with his old friend, said: ‘Barry came out with it and said: “Look, why don’t we go on the road again?” And Rob just grinned and said: “Great, when can we go?”
‘We said well, we need to get you a bit stronger and better first, we will have to feed you up, none of this vegan nonsense with herbal tea. I think it was the best medicine we could have given him.’ 
Sadly, Robin Gibb — whose songwriting has brought him a £140 million fortune — is, in fact, desperately ill, his health so poor that there is no disguising the crisis any longer.
Three weeks ago, he was treated in hospital for inflammation of the colon. Last week, he was taken back to hospital with suspected pneumonia.
He is understood to be improving daily from that scare, thanks to a course of powerful antibiotics, but remains in a vulnerable state.
Dwina, an artist, poet and ordained druid, is encouraging him to undergo daily 20-minute sessions in a detox hut to sweat out toxins.
She has been exploring Native American ‘spider medicine’,  which promises to cure ‘even untreatable’ diseases.
The treatment involves what is essentially meditation in which the patient imagines the powers of a spider creating and weaving fate, and then attempts to capture and channel that energy.
Robin wrote on his blog this week that he believes he is on the mend.
‘I have been very unwell and am now on the road to recovering, and your prayers and wishes are a great tonic to me. I believe because of you I will get well, and my deepest love goes out to you all,’ he said.
This crisis in his health has put everyone in mind of his twin brother, Maurice, who died suddenly in 2003, aged 53, after what had been expected to be a straightforward operation to correct an intestinal blockage.
Robin was devastated by his twin’s death, which he says he still hasn’t really been able to accept.
‘He took ill and two days later he had gone. We were absolutely devastated,’ said Robin.
‘As brothers, we were like one person, but he was the glue that kept the personalities intact.’  I’m told Robin declined to have a party to celebrate his birthday last year because it should have been Maurice’s special day, too. Instead, he and his family lit a candle in his brother’s memory.
That painful milestone approaches again next month.
‘We spoke this week about Maurice again. Robin has never got over  him dying, absolutely not,’ says David English.
‘It was devastating for him when his brother Andy died, but he and Maurice had an extra special bond as they were twins.’
What’s more, in an uncanny coincidence, Robin, too, has suffered from an intestinal blockage. Last October, he had emergency surgery, just as Maurice did.
‘At the time I thought it was just wind cramps,’ said Robin. ‘But the blockage was so bad that the surgeon was surprised it hadn’t burst the day before.
‘The relief (after surgery) was enormous and afterwards I didn’t need painkillers. Everything seemed back to normal.’ 
He said in an interview: ‘You realise you don’t think about death or think: “That’s for other people.” I’m just grateful I’m here. Losing people makes you realise you’ve got to grab life, not put off things. I don’t have too much faith in destiny or an afterlife. This is it.’
And what a life it has been. Gibb, a shy, laconic loner, was raised in poverty and rode the crest of the disco wave as a tight-trousered  sex symbol. Along the way he was tormented by a destructive family dynamic that took its toll on  his brothers.
Robin was only 17 when they had their first hit, New York Mining Disaster, and he fell in love with Molly Hullis, a secretary in pop mogul’s Brian Epstein’s office.
They were married within a  year and settled in Epsom, Surrey, where they had their children Spencer and Melissa.
But as the Bee Gees’s fame took off, Robin’s drug use became pronounced. At the height of his fame, with the soundtrack to  the hit movie Saturday Night  Fever, Molly told him their marriage was over.
‘I loved my life, but I was young and still attracted to other people. I have a high sex drive and I was unfaithful,’ he said. For six years, despite legal actions by Robin, he was barred from seeing his children. ‘I felt I was going to die from complete misery,’ he said.
He was at a low ebb when he was introduced to Dwina. They met after he became intrigued by a painting she had done for the actress Sarah Miles.
They fell deeply in love and their son Robin-John was born in 1983.
Dwina supported Robin when his cocaine-addicted younger brother Andy died suddenly at their home at the age of just 30.
Their relationship was tested when Robin fathered a child by their housekeeper, Claire Yang. Dwina was said to be furious when the news emerged two years ago, and was said to have insisted Miss Yang be sacked. Yang and her daughter Snow Robin, an enchanting three-year-old, live in a converted barn close to Robin’s home.
Robin’s manager Mick Garbutt says there was never any question of a divorce.
‘There was maybe some irritation, but they are together now and are together in the future,’ he says.
As far as the locals were concerned, the birth of Snow Robin didn’t change their affection for their local celebrity one bit.
Jenny Walker, 60, who is part-owner of A Piece Of Cake in Thame, said that all of the local community are supporting him as much as they can, and that everyone has been saddened to hear of his illness.
‘He really has done so much for the town over the years. He turned on the Christmas lights one year and always takes a huge interest in what people are doing,’ says  Mrs Walker.
‘If there is a charity fundraiser, he’ll be the first to contribute. I  can only hope he manages to  pull through this. He is a valued member of the community and a very nice person.’
David English says: ‘I don’t know how his mother is coping. She is wonderful, but she has lost Andy and Maurice, and now Robin is so ill. She is being terribly brave.
‘We all love Rob. His is an extra-ordinary success story and has brought so much joy to people with his music, but there has been so much tragedy in it.
‘I know the odds are against him, but I am hoping we can get him well and get him out there again because that is where he wants to be.’

É muito difícil para nós de fora comentar sobre a relação entre os irmãos Gibb. Eu juntei durante os últimos anos muito material interessante sobre isso. Abaixo, algo que encontrei hoje na internet, não sei a data da publicação, mas é posterior à morte do Maurice. É provável que seja um desdobramento daquela aparição do Barry no E! Television, que acabou motivando depois uma resposta do Robin no mesmo programa. Barry fala brevemente sobre as consequências da morte do Andy para a harmonia familiar. E diz que foi 'convidado' pela família do Maurice a não fazer parte de um álbum em tributo ao irmão. Será?

BARRY GIBB SNUBBED FOR BROTHER'S TRIBUTE ALBUM

BEE GEES brother BARRY GIBB is heartbroken after being told his late brother MAURICE's family want him to play no part in a planned tribute album. Gibb reveals he and siblings, Maurice and ROBIN, had fallen out five years before Maurice's sudden death in 2003 - and the feud continues two years after the tragedy. The singer explains, "I have been deliberately disinvolved. People have actually excluded me from that process. "Certain things were done by the people who look after my brother to stop me from being involved. "It much more involves exploiting the Bee Gees than it does paying tribute to Mo (Maurice), and that's what's sad." And, speaking exclusively to US news show Entertainment Tonight, Barry Gibb reveals he's more than used to family feuds he and his singing brothers rarely got along.

He blames the death of the brothers' youngest sibling ANDY in 1988 for sparking the family squabbles, and tragedy is still breaking them apart.
He says, "It (death) either fuses you together or it blows the family apart. I think it's very sad. It wasn't good for our family, to lose Andy and then Mo.
"The sense of loss that stays in the family... is the void that stays. It's real, it's touchable."

Chega em 5 de dezembro a reedição do CD Bee Gees Number Ones. Voltamos às cansadas coletâneas, mais uma vez espremendo até o fim um repertório que já está pra lá de saturado. Porém, infelizmente é isso que o público de massa quer comprar. Uma pena, pois o melhor dos Bee Gees ainda está para ser descoberto pelo público em geral. Outra “novidade” da Rhino é a reedição, em 6 de dezembro, do Main Course, para muitos o melhor álbum dos Bee Gees (acho que concordo). Creio que essa edição seja apenas para manter o álbum em catálogo (muitos outros títulos já haviam sido lançados pela Rhino, a partir de Children of the world, com esse objetivo). O que a gente queria mesmo era uma edição especial com extras, exatamente como foi feito com os 4 primeiros álbuns. Porém, o resultado das vendas levou esse projeto para a gaveta. Na visão da Rhino, e da indústria fonográfica como um todo, os Bee Gees não são uma banda para o mercado de álbuns, mas sim uma banda de hits. Daí o foco ter se voltado completamente para as repetitivas coletâneas.

Hoje saiu essa matéria falando sobre o Barry ter ficado de fora do álbum daquela banda virtual Gorilaz. Essa história é muito antiga, já foi mais do que divulgada, e agora voltou por conta de uma declaração do criador da coisa. Reproduzo abaixo, mas sem maiores consequências.

Barry Gibb has missed out on his chance to perform with the Gorillaz due to an ear infection.

Group frontman Damon Albarn revealed he approached Gibbs to ask him to join the band on stage for their track Stylo.

He says: "We almost had Barry Gibb on this one, but he got McLean's Earache on the way in and shied out."
But Albarn admits he's happy with the way the song turned out.
He tells PedestriaTV.com: "Bobby Womack's chorus, he just explodes into the track. Pow!!! How good is it to get Bobby Womack on the record? This was the first recording he'd made in 15, 20 years, so what an honour. Bobby said he only returned to do this Gorillaz track because his granddaughter said Gorillaz were cool. Which is true. We are.
"Bobby joined us on the Plastic Beach World Tour last year, and just knocked this song right out the park, every arena, every night. Incredible voice."

ROBIN SE MANIFESTA

Robin publicou hoje em seu blog um agradecimento à família e, especialmente, aos fãs de todo o mundo. Foi uma mensagem pessoal e, portanto, não haveria aí espaço para esclarecimentos sobre seu quadro. Mostra otimismo ao dizer que está a caminho da recuperação. Cabe mesmo a ele acreditar e lutar pelo que deseja. É o que todos nós também desejamos, apesar de tudo o que está posto.

I wish to thank my family, friends and fans and the many thousands of people who do not know me but have enjoyed Bee Gees music and have wished me well. I am very touched by your love, kindness and support. This concern from people all over the world has demonstrated the depth of feeling and love that the Bee Gees have achieved over the years. It is humbling and I take your prayers and good wishes for my health very seriously. I have been very unwell and am now on the road to recovery, and your prayers and wishes are a great tonic to me. I believe because of you I will get well and my deepest love goes out to you all. 

ALGUNS CONCEITOS E REFLEXÕES

Se é verdade que Robin teve seu diagnóstico confirmado em abril, podemos acreditar que isso ocorreu exatamente quando foi adiada sua turnê pelo Brasil. Na época, divulgou-se que ele havia cancelado a viagem por conta de dores abdominais e que seria feita uma investigação para determinar a causa. O tratamento teria se iniciado em maio. Mas em que condições estava o fígado do Robin quando se iniciou o tratamento? O que se pode fazer quando o órgão está tomado por um tumor? São perguntas que nós, leigos, fazemos tentando encontrar uma esperança para o que estamos vendo.

Há mais ou menos uns 3 anos eu entrevistei o médico Silvano Raia, criador da técnica do transplante de fígado entre pacientes vivos e provavelmente a maior autoridade mundial nesse órgão. O primeiro transplante nessas condições foi feito em 1988 (com doador cadáver, em 1985).

“O fígado, pela sua consistência peculiar, não permite hemostasia por pontos de aproximação. Ao apertar os nós, o cirurgião rasga o tecido e aumenta a hemorragia. Em consequência, quando os pacientes eram operados para a remoção, por exemplo, de um câncer de intestino, estômago ou vesícula e era encontrada uma pequena metástase no fígado, o paciente era considerado inoperável. A abordagem cirúrgica do fígado representava um tabu, que meus ímpetos de juventude decidiram superar. Como outros, dediquei-me a estudar o fígado, que é um órgão complexo pelas inúmeras funções que exerce: sintetiza substâncias e excreta outras, é responsável pela formação dos fatores da coagulação e pelo clareamento de substâncias capazes de determinar alterações do funcionamento cerebral (coma hepático) (...) Em 1988, associamos nossa experiência adquirida em cerca de uma centena de ressecções de parte do fígado por tumores, abscessos, etc. com a experiência do transplante em adultos e realizamos, pela primeira vez no mundo, um transplante de fígado com doador vivo. Geralmente a mãe ou outro parente próximo é o doador, ressecando-se 30% do seu fígado que é transplantado na criança. Esse procedimento é particularmente gratificante uma vez que o fígado remanescente do doador se regenera. Em poucas semanas ele é capaz de readquirir sua massa e peso normais. Por outro lado, o fragmento transplantado cresce no receptor até as medidas normais para seu peso e idade”, me contou o médico na época.

Infelizmente, para câncer me parece que não há a possibilidade de transplante do fígado. Outro conceito importante: nos casos em que se constata o abdômen distendido, o paciente já se encontra em fase terminal devido à falência do órgão. Nesse quadro, a situação é gravíssima e de rápido desfecho.

Desconhecemos as condições exatas do Robin, e torcemos para que não se confirmem as informações veiculadas pela imprensa. Mas, uma coisa é certa: diante da repercussão internacional e do sofrimento que essas notícias trazem a milhares de pessoas, se o quadro não fosse semelhante ao que se tem publicado, a reação óbvia da família seria desmentir as notícias. Todos aqueles que se envolveram com Robin e sua obra vivem agora uma agonia e a falta da informação oficial só aumenta o drama e o pessimismo.

BARRY DE VOLTA A MIAMI

Após visitar Robin na Inglaterra, Barry já estaria de volta a Miami, onde se encontra também na companhia da mãe, Barbara, que completou 91 anos esta semana. Os tablóides ingleses informam que ela estaria ao lado de Robin, mas segundo informações vindas do staff tanto do Barry quanto do Robin ela ficou mesmo em Miami.

Sobre Robin, nenhuma notícia oficial. Porém, agora que o problema ganhou os sites e jornais do mundo todo, crescem as especulações e novas versões. O notíciario do canal ET informou que Robin teria ido ontem à noite ao hospital onde já teriam sido detectados sinais de falência do fígado - abdômen muito inchado em razão da retenção de líquidos, consequência da falência do órgão. A se confirmar, uma notícia dramática.
Enfim, resta-nos aguardar e torcer para que as clamorosas evidências que todos estamos enxergando sejam reversíveis.

NOTÍCIAS DA IMPRENSA INGLESA CONFIRMAM SUSPEITAS DE TODOS NÓS

O assunto já foi bastante explorado no final de semana, pouco há o que dizer.
Abaixo, matéria de hoje da imprensa britânica segundo a qual o problema com o Robin teria sido detectado em abril. Segundo o texto, o tratamento realizado desde maio não teve o resultado esperado, conforme temos visto pelas fotos.
A notícia sobre o triste diagnóstico, ainda não confirmada oficialmente, é óbvia diante do que temos visto nas últimas semanas em relação à condição física do Robin e à postura da família - incluíndo a viagem do Barry, que já coloquei aqui como de interpretação otimista e pessimista - infelizmente parece que prevalecará a pessimista.
Diante da evolução constante e negativa do quadro, não sei o quanto podemos ser otimistas o esperançosos.
Robin Gibb nos últimos anos foi uma pessoa ativa e manteve viva a chama grandiosa da obra dos Bee Gees. E muito ainda há para ser feito. Que ele seja feliz.

FEARS were growing for frail Bee Gees star Robin Gibb last night as he battled liver cancer.
The stricken singer, 61, was given the devastating news the disease was getting worse after months of treatment failed to have an effect.
He is being cared for at home by devoted wife Dwina while brother and bandmate Barry, 64, has flown in from the US to be by his side.
A family friend said: "We are all devastated.
"Robin has been a pinnacle of strength and is showing enormous courage and dignity in the wake of this terrible news."
The star — who has been painfully thin for months — has bravely told friends and family he wants to "work until I drop".
The friend added: "Robin said performing is living and breathing for him. It is what keeps him going."
It is believed Robin has been undergoing private treatment for the cancer since May at a Harley Street clinic.

He was diagnosed after being taken to hospital in April with crippling abdominal pains.
Eight months before that he had life-saving surgery for a blocked intestine — the same condition that killed his twin and bandmate Maurice at the age of 53 in 2003. But further tests revealed Robin's agony was being caused by the previously undetected cancer.

The tee-total vegan is on a high-fibre diet as he continues to fight the disease at his luxury home in Thame, Oxfordshire.
Last month an ambulance took him to the John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford, with severe stomach pains. He was discharged after four days having been treated for inflammation of the colon.
He then withdrew from a Remembrance Sunday edition of BBC1 show Songs Of Praise.

A week later, he was too ill to meet David Cameron to launch a new version of the Bee Gees' song I've Gotta Get A Message To You for the Poppy Appeal.
The Bee Gees have sold 200 million records worldwide with hits such as Night Fever and Stayin' Alive.
Another friend said last night: "Robin's fans should remember at this time what a legendary musician he is and the impact he has had on popular culture.
"He's a truly great man whose body of work with the Bee Gees rivals that of any of his peers."
Robin and Dwina have one son, Robin-John, 26, who also lives at the family home.
Robin has two other children, Spencer, 38, and Melissa, 36, by his first wife Molly Hullis — and also fathered a child with his live-in housekeeper in 2008.

Em outubro, Robin esteve internado, em outubro, para tratar um problema no intestino, depois de se queixar de severas dores abdominais.
Os amigos se dizem frustrados com os problemas de saúde de Robin, já que ele não bebia, tinha uma alimentação saudável e se exercitava diariamente.
Robin teve de desistir de uma série de compromissos por causa de sua saúde.
Em entrevista recente, o músico disse que nunca se recuperou da morte de Maurice Gibb, seu irmão gêmeo, em 1998, vítima de um obstrução intestinal.
Depois disso, O Bee Gees se separou e Barry e Robin seguiram carreira solo.
Em 2009, os dois irmãos decidiram voltaram a fazer shows juntos.

BARRY VISITA ROBIN NA INGLATERRA

Depois de um feriado fora da internet, começo a semana com essa bela imagem. Desnecessário dizer o quanto nós fãs ficamos felizes em ver Barry e Robin juntos e, quem sabe, de fato fazendo planos para o futuro.
Bom, há duas leituras óbvias para fazer a respeito dos motivos que fizeram com que o Barry atravessasse o oceano rumo à casa do Robin, algo que, ao que sabemos, não é nada comum.
Prefiro ficar com a leitura otimista e acreditar que o problema com o Robin acabou merecendo mesmo, como coloquei aqui outro dia, uma reflexão do Barry sobre o papel do irmão em sua vida.
Robin está obviamente muito doente e daí toda essa mobilização de parentes, filhos e amigos, porém, de novo, prefiro acreditar que tudo isso foi para dar uma força a ele quanto à recuperação que nós, fãs, esperamos.
O que Barry e Robin poderiam fazer juntos no futuro? Esse é um assunto que já caiu no descrédito, portanto o mais importante agora é que Robin se recupere e o que vier daí será lucro. Pelo menos ele está com uma aparência melhor.

EM 2012 TEM BEE GEES EM PORTUGUÊS

Vem aí um novo CD inteirinho com músicas dos Bee Gees interpretadas em português. O repertório é focado em baladas e - fato muito interessante - a produção ficou a cargo de um profissional que no passado já esteve envolvido com a carreira dos próprios irmãos Gibb.
Neste momento, há negocioações para a escolha da gravadora responsável pelo lançamento da obra, que já está prontinha. A ideia é começar as vendas em 2012. Uma dica: antes que alguém tire conclusões, não estamos falando de ninguém que em algum momento já tenha lançado algum trabalho relacionado aos Bee Gees.
Assim que o contrato sair, eu conto mais.

DOENÇA AFASTA ROBIN DE MAIS UM EVENTO

Robin infelizmente cancelou mais uma aparição pública por conta de seu estado de saúde.
A mim a situação parece cada vez mais preocupante por conta da aparente não-recuperação de seu estado com a passagem das semanas, e também pelas opiniões que tenho ouvido de amigos da área de saúde que viram suas últimas fotos - claro que com as devidas ressalvas de quem não tem contato direto com o paciente.

Essa abaixo é uma causa muito importante para o Robin e sua ausência prova que realmente ele não está bem (faz praticamente um mês que saiu do hospital, ano passado, após a cirurgia, em menos tempo ele já tinha voltado aos palcos).

Enfim, como desta vez a família e o próprio Robin preferiram o silência - ao contrário das outras oportunidades - cresce a preocupação de todos nós e o desejo de que nossas percepções individuais não se confirmem.

Ficamos esperando pela recuperação do Robin, quem tem um grande trabalho a apresentar até abril do ano que vem, data que marca os 100 anos do naufrágio do Titanic, inspiração para seu novo álbum solo que, pelo pouco que já pudemos ouvir, será algo à altura de seu talento.

£300,000 SALUTE TO OUR BOMBER HEROES

THE Bomber Command Memorial campaign got a £300,000 boost yesterday after a prestigious fund-raising dinner hosted by TV star Carol Vorderman.
The 400 guests, including Daily Express owner Richard Desmond, actress Wendy Craig and Downton Abbey creator Lord Fellowes, dug deep for the auctions.
The most coveted item – a flight for two in a Lancaster bomber in Canada – went for £45,000.
A one-off Bomber Command watch made by Breitling sold for £40,000, two luxury holidays at a resort in Antigua used by soccer star David Beckham for £34,000, a series of paintings by David and Mandy Shepherd for £30,000 and a trip to the Champagne region with Taittinger for £17,000. The audience was entertained by groups including The Dooleys, Blake and singer Tori White.
The Bomber Command Memorial Fund also used the event to pay tribute to the support given by the Daily Express. Readers have donated £500,000, a sum matched by Mr Desmond from his own pocket.
The campaign’s fundraising director Jim Dooley said: “Our friends in the media have been extraordinarily supportive. Daily Express readers have been so very generous as has Daily Express owner Richard Desmond. Without their support we would not be where we are now – laying the foundations for the memorial and preparing for the formal opening next June during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.”

Mr Dooley also read out a personal message to the £400-a-head dinner from his colleague at the fund, Bee Gee Robin Gibb. Mr Gibb was too ill to perform at the event in London’s Natural History Museum. But from his sick bed he said: “It has been a labour of love and it is a great achievement on everyone’s part.
“A special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this cause. It is something I celebrate every day that, after 70 years, this monument is a reality and a fitting tribute to those veterans who are with us today and to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom today. It is my great regret that I am unable to be with you tonight.

Quem conhece Miami Beach (que é uma cidade diferente de Miami) sabe bem como são bonitas aquelas mansões. Mas existem centenas de casas à venda lá hoje, portanto não será do dia para a noite que o Robin venderá a casa, a não ser que ofereça por um preço muito abaixo do mercado.
Apenas para atualizar o assunto, que para nós é secundário, segue essa nota de ontem.

Robin Gibb puts Miami mansion on the market

Bee Gees star Robin Gibb is selling his Florida mansion for a reported $4.2million.
The ivy-covered, Spanish-style residence has an impressive seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and was bought by the 61-year-old British-born musician and his wife Dwina three years ago.
According to South Florida celebrity news website Gossip Extra, the couple paid about the same price that they're now asking – in cash – in 2008.
The palatial 20,000sq ft property, which was built in 2001, features soaring 12ft- and 24ft-high ceilings and stands on a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac in Miami's prestigious Ponce Davis area.
The luxury home is listed on real estate website Trulia, and is described as having a "timeless floor plan”, "breathtaking foyer”, and “state-of-the-art sound system throughout the house”.
It also boasts a huge gourmet kitchen, marble floors, an office, and maid's quarters, as well as elegant family rooms and both formal and casual dining spaces.
Gibb is understood to have placed the two-storey home, which also has a three-car garage and a "resort-style" pool and patio, on the market 90 days ago.

Acho, no entanto, que ainda é precipitado confirmar essa informação.
 

ROBIN CHEGA AO NÚMERO 1?

Toda a exposição pública do Robin neste momento e seu esforço - inclusive físico - se deve ao sonho de atingir o número 1 das charts britânicas pela sexta década consecutiva?
Será que ele consegue?

Há bons e maus indicadores, que vocês vão ver a seguir. Então, resumindo, é mais ou menos o seguinte por enquanto:

O novo CD, incluíndo no ranking dos álbuns, estreou no top 15 inglês, ocupando a

11ª posição, um resultado excelente.

Já o single, que é o que efetivamente interessa ao Robin, não vai bem por enquanto. Está na

75ª  posição, muito longe do número 1 almejado pelo Robin.

Enquanto isso, no site Amazon ele está no topo do ranking, como mostra a matéria abaixo. Porém, para efeito das charts oficiais (que consideram especialmente o número de downloads), esse resultado não tem tanto peso.

Uma curiosidade: segundo um fã que já recebeu o CD, ele simula o efeito 5.1 canais de áudio, tornando a experiência ainda mais agradável. Portanto, para quem tem home theater, mais um motivo para comprar o CD oficial e ajudar o Robin na sua luta (pelo menos nessa a gente consegue colaborar).

Robin Gibb's Charity Single Hits Top Of Amazon Charts

The 2011 Official Poppy Appeal Single for The Royal British Legion went on sale this week – with a bullet. The single went straight to the top of the Amazon charts.
I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You by The Soldiers with Robin Gibb went on sale Sunday and had its ceremonial debut on Monday when The Soldiers performed it for Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. The Soldiers performed an a capella version of the song in front of an audience of decorated ex-Service people at the Prime Minister’s home.
The Legion’s Director of Fundraising Russell Thompson said: “It is the first time serving soldiers have sung the official single for the Poppy Appeal and we’re honoured that this great song was performed at No 10 Downing Street today, The song is incredibly moving to hear and reminds listeners to think of those serving in Afghanistan. We’re proud to be associated with The Soldiers and to have this song as the official tune of the Poppy Appeal in our 90th anniversary year.”
The single now sits at the top of the Amazon UK singles sales charts, ahead of offerings from One Direction, Erasure, Westlife, and Noel Gallagher.
“We’re delighted it’s been so well received,” said a Legion spokesman. “Now let’s keep the momentum going to make Robin Gibb and The Soldiers the Number One single on the Official UK Charts for Remembrance Sunday.”
The Soldiers – Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Staff Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi – were aware of Robin Gibb’s charitable work for the troops and big fans of the Bee Gees. They approached Robin to ask if he would be up for a collaboration, and were over the moon when he agreed.
Sgt Maj Gary Chilton said: "As serving soldiers, it’s a huge privilege to be involved in something as special as the Poppy Appeal and perform at No 10 Downing Street. We hope every single person in the country embraces the Appeal and gives back to those who sacrifice so much for our country.
“The Royal British Legion is a wonderful organisation which provides so much practical help to the Armed Forces. It is there to pick up people who have fallen on hard times. For example, Ryan’s dad used to serve in the Welsh Guards and when his lift broke down, the Legion was able to sort it out for him, which was fantastic.”
If the single makes it to the top of the Official UK Singles Charts, it would mark a record-breaking six consecutive decades with a Number One single for Robin Gibb.
’I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You’ has been produced by the legendary Nick Patrick (Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson) and Jeff Chegwin. Robin Gibb wrote the track with his brothers Barry and Maurice and it was originally recorded by the Bee Gees in 1968, becoming their second Number One single on the UK singles chart.
The single is now available from Amazon, HMV, www.poppyshop.org.uk and other leading outlets.

The Beatles legend Ringo Starr has never really managed to shake off unfair criticism of his drumming skills.
Now, I can reveal, the 69-year-old faced fresh humiliation at the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition launch at the V&A last night when a pretty brunette mistook him for Bee Gees star Robin Gibb. Ringo pictured with his wife below.
'My friend bet me £50 that you were in the Rolling Stones and I got it right because I said the Bee Gees.' She said to a bemused Ringo.
'The Bee Gees. I suppose I look a bit like Robin Gibb so just call me Robin from now on.' he joked.
The star took the faux pas with good humour and revealed the reason why he was attending the event as Prince Albert of Monaco's guest.
'I've known Albert since he was a baby and I've remained friends with the family ever since. This is an amazing way to remember Princess Grace.' he said.

Argentina faz corrente pela recupeção do Robin
Os fãs argentinos convidam para uma reunião em Buenos Aires dia 26 de novembro para formar uma corrente em favor da recuperação do Robin.

Aqui no Brasil, nosso próximo encontro será dia 3 de dezembro em São Paulo. Tomara que até lá o Robin esteja melhor e possamos comemorar a recuperação juntos.

CONTINUAMOS TORCENDO PELO ROBIN

Tenho evitado postar aqui porque esse blog foi criado com o objetivo de colocar boas a atuais notícias sobre os irmãos Gibb.
Infelizmente, não deu tempo de colocar aqui boas notícias, todos os fãs foram surpreendidos pela degradação física acelerada do Robin, situação que não foi explicada (ele próprio tem evitado o assunto). Embora respeite-se o direto do Robin e de sua família à privacidade, ao mesmo tempo em que ele aprece sistematicamente nos eventos nas condições em que se encontra acaba dando margem a todo tipo de especulação - e, embora a maioria aqui não seja ligada à área de saúde, somos todos adultos e não é difícil tirar certas conclusões com base no que estamos vendo e no que já vimos em amigos e parentes.
Enfim, resta torcer para que o Robin se recupere, ainda que desde sua saída do hospital há cerca de 3 semanas o que temos visto é exatamente o contrário.
Seguem alguns registros da imprensa inglesa, que já postei no BR GIBB, mas que repito aqui em consideração aos poucos que começaram a frequentar esse blog.
Para entender um pouco melhor a causa em que o Robin está tão empenhado, segue uma matéria interessante da semana passada.
É claro que nessa história toda o Robin tem também um interesse grande em chegar ao número 1 pela sexta década consecutiva, o que seria um merecido marco histórico - no entanto, por enquanto parece estar muito longe disso.
Espero também que seja mera coincidência o Robin ter escolhido para esse momento regravar uma música que trata tão explicitamente de uma pessoa se despedindo da vida.

Poppy appeal aims for record £40m

The Royal British Legion has launched the 2011 UK Poppy appeal, with the aim of raising £40m to help past and present members of the British Armed Forces and their families.

This year's slogan "shoulder to shoulder with all who serve" was unveiled at a London event.
The charity hopes to beat last year's efforts, which raised £36m .
There is also an online campaign and an official single recorded by Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, and The Soldiers.
The Soldiers are a music group of three serving personnel - Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Staff Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi.
The three soldiers attended the launch event, along with television presenter Gethin Jones.
The Poppy appeal distributes about 45m poppies, 100,000 wreaths and sprays and 750,000 Little Remembrance crosses. These items are made at the Legion's poppy factory in Richmond, south west London.

The Legion, now in its 90th year, has also unveiled a social media campaign to capture public support and encouragement for the Armed Forces.
Members of the public are able to pin a poppy to an online photograph, add a message of support, and place it alongside thousands of others on an interactive wall.
Legion Director of Fundraising, Russell Thompson, said: "Of course, everyone who wears the paper poppy is also standing shoulder to shoulder.
"It doesn't really matter whether you wear your poppy on the street or online - just so long as you wear your poppy with pride."
Attending the national launch was Lance Corporal Tyler Christopher, 27, of 4th Battalion The Rifles. He was injured by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2009 and had to have both legs amputated above the knee.
The Legion has provided funding for adaptations to his home.
He said: "Changes to my mum's home were essential when I came home from Headley Court, and I'll never forget that the Legion got the job done as quickly as possible to make life at that time easier for me.
"Both myself and my girlfriend are grateful for the support of the Legion and hope to some day set up our own business - something we know the Legion is also able to help with."
In Wales, the appeal was launched by Corporal Glen Edwards, who was blinded in an accident, at St Dunstan's Llandudno rehabilitation centre. Welsh fundraisers hope to collect £3m this year.
The Poppyscotland appeal, which is a sister appeal to the one run in the rest of the UK, was also launched on Thursday by the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, at their Glencorse Barracks in Penicuik, Midlothian. It raised a record £2.35m last year.
Northern Ireland's appeal is being launched on Friday at Hillsborough Castle, by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Owen Paterson MP.

Pessoalmente, acho que o Robin deveria se preservar dessas exposições, caso, de fato, esteja em fase de recuperação.
No entanto, a outra hipótese é que o Robin pode estar levando a vida dentro das possibilidades atuais, e aí se justificariam essas aparições (essa é a hipótese que todos nós esperamos que não se confirme, pois representaria a não-expectativa de recuperação).
